High Water 04:05
(Inhale) In high water what are you wading for? x 2 Your feet are dead can't hear me speak But it's peaceful luxury that you seek I still give it all to you so what are you waiting for? The temp is rising The pressure's on The flood is drowning the siren's song of your fantasy of material things so what are you waiting for? In high water what are you wading for? x 2 Time to swim, Time to swim (how we gonna get out, gotta get out) Do you remember how? Waiting for now? x 4 Time to swim, Time to swim, Time to swim, Time to swim Time to swim, Time to swim, Time to swim... in high water! What are you wading for? In high water what are you wading for?

(Hue)Man 06:42
Black or white (Human) Fight or flight (Human) Blue collar (Human) Advanced scholar (Human) Red, blue, green (Human) Somewhere in between (Human) Annoying us (Human) Destroying us (Human) Dancing on our hollow bones Mother, we've been overthrown Power to the human Not the Man, but the Hue man don't need more power Give it to the Hue Let me be a hollow bone Let me be a hollow bone Take. Take O. Take Over.
3.
Each moment, every breath Remember who you are Born from a star (born from a star) Suckling on the teet of a waterfall Deaf from the noise, you still hear the call Mother to the child They are but one, the whole, the all So take time to find your people Where's your steeple? Not in the mind of another man (another man) or the box you put yourself in It's the dot beneath your brow It's the beating heart of the womb You stand upon and breath to and from Look deep into the lake of your mind We are the Earth just trying to survive
4.
It's a conspiracy a mind game you still haven't won And the theories that mirror me are bullets of imaginary guns And it's our imagination that grew flowers as a child grew up and burned down the garden and finds solace wild Find a home where you can be Everything, it's the panoramic Find a home where you can see Everything, it's the panoramic dance Feel your feet on the Earth, Earth, Earth! One left, hit the two step as the rain falls, get your feet wet Don't let your calloused mind Keep you from living life

"Before enlightenment: chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment: chop wood, carry water. The here and now remembers the past and anticipates the future, which is the very nature of consciousness. So, you actually are conscious on very many levels. You're conscious; like being one with yourself, conscious with being one with your species, consciousness with life, consciousness with the planet, consciousness with the universe. Also, the ecosystem and everything is part of consciousness. So spiritual growth is to let go of the ego and get more in touch with the consciousness. And we're here on Earth to actually follow that path. We're here on Earth to start widening our consciousness and throw it in wider and wider circles to eventually achieve Universal consciousness. And in Universal consciousness, we're all the same, we're all together. And the whole point of life and human beings is that we're heading away from that Universal consciousness so that we can walk our own path and find it again. In life, there's so much diversity and information, what we could be doing - like our genes. What we actually do with our genes is only a few percent of what kind of information is actually stored. there. And that is all insurance against a changing world, where all of a sudden we need to tap into something. Let's embrace diversity. Different people thinking different things, having different options of how they think, what they need to do for the future, and if they think they're safe and all that. And a lot of those will fail, but I'm not the won who knows which ones. Humans, they actually start betting their future as a species on the availability of non-renewable resources, so if we shift to actually figuring out how we can live off of renewable resources and be part of the total cycle of life, then I don't see the reason why humans can't be even in massive amounts on the planet. A lot of places all of the world are out of context with nature that is actually happening there. Listen to the song of nature; it's a symphony out there." - Roel Boumans, ecologist Mantra: Chop Wood, Carry Water

about

In October 2022, Earth Radio planned a writing retreat to a small farm in Vermont, nestled in the Lake Champlain Valley. We sardined ourselves into a Dodge Journey with very limited musical equipment and set off to write and record an album in less than a week around the prompt, “If The Earth Could Speak, What Would It Say?”

We hope that this record inspires you to think more about living in reciprocity with nature and that it offers a respite from our hectic modern living, even inviting you to breath from the moment the record plays. As you listen, know that tracks are listed in the order we wrote them and also the order we always rehearsed them as the tracks took shape.

This record would not be possible if it weren't for the wonderful hosts/friends we stayed with in Vermont (thank you Roel and Tiny!), Jeremy Mendecino at Lane Gibson Recording Studio, Michigan's own Glenn Brown, and staff at Lane Gibson Recording Studio and Glenn Brown Productions, the wonderful artwork crafted by our longtime friend/collaborator Sky Black, producers like Ryan Birtles and the dozens of supporters through our Kickstarter campaign, and the cooperative efforts of the Earth Radio crew, including Hannah Jurcich's steadfast support and enthusiasm behind this venture AND connecting us to the land we visited.
